Right after high school in 1976 I moved to Tulsa to start a career at Rudy’s Fireside and Patio shop. At Rudy’s I oversaw the fire screen dept and worked on the sales floor as needed, after 4 years I took over the commercial window covering dept and helped expand the business by adding another store, With the addition of my two daughters, Kristy and Janet I started to get deep in their sports and had the pleasure of coaching most of their adventures. Softball became a passion for me playing for many teams along with starting a long adventure of coaching girls fast pitch softball.
My first team as a fastpitch coach started with a bunch of 4- to 5-year-old girls and I coached them from the beginning through their senior year of high school. In 1994 returned to my hometown of Chanute and opened Westco Home furnishings in Iola and Chanute. After managing the Chanute store for 6 years, I was asked to put together a plan to operate both the Chanute and Iola stores. In 2004 I started managing Westco in Parsons, KS.
In November of 2009 I started a career with Farmers Union Insurance as an agent in southeast Kansas. Farm, Home Auto, recreation vehicles, Medicare supplement, Life and developed a strong passion for the Annuity business protecting our clients’ money against the downfalls of the marketplace.
In 2010 received my first Top Life agent of the year award. This has been followed by awards in 2012,2013,2014,2015,2016,2017.2018,2019,2021 and to date 2022 top Financial Service Agent for either the state of Kansas or both states Kansas and Nebraska.
I still coach Girls fast Pitch softball for the Chanute High School along with Unified Bowling and both the Boys and Girls high school bowling teams in which I was able to get put into the schools.
My greatest joy is watching my grandchildren Hunter, Kamri, Karter and Drake with My wife Erin, Daughters Kristy Friederich and Janet Naff participating in whatever one is going on at the time. Plus, this year Baylor my first Great Grandchild arrived. My office Manager is my son in law Matt Naff and we are always available to help with any of your insurance needs.
