Van began his new career with Midwest Regional Agency on June 1, 2018 in McPherson, KS.

Van was born in Leavenworth, Kansas. When he was young, his family moved to Frankfort, Indiana which is where he spent most of his school years. He and his twin brother share memories of paper routes, mowing lawnsand learning to drive at the age of 12 while working for a local farmer. Van’s family eventually moved to Salina, Kansas where he graduated from Salina Central High School and spent 23 years working for Exide Battery.

Van and his wife Teresa have been married 36 years. They have two grown children, a daughter and a son. In the summer of 2000 the family moved to Marshall, Minnesota. During this time, Van was production superintendent for Schott Electronics and attended Southwest Minnesota State University graduating with aBachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. While in college Van opened a guitar store. He owned and operated the guitar/music store and taught guitar for 8 years. Van and Teresa moved back to Kansas in 2012 to be closer to family.

Upon returning to Salina, Van was a salesman for Salina Steel Supply. Van’s wife started as Director atSolomon Corp. Van started his insurance career with Farm Bureau in February of 2017. Van has found he enjoys selling insurance but wanted to find a company he feels meets his vision better and feels he has found the perfect company to work for in Midwest Regional Agency.

Outside of work he enjoys riding motorcycles, playing golf, going to bluegrass festivals, jamming withfriends and playing music with his band Pete’s Creek.

Van is also a proud member of Ambuc’s whose primary focus is to provide AmTrykes and build wheelchairramps to help give people with disabilities more mobility and independence.
